Written Statement

The junction of 9th street and 4th Avenue is revitalized by the insertion of a new transportation hub defined by distinct bright red structure. The original subway entrance under the bridge is relocated to 2 new buildings with corner entrances, and bike garages introduced as part of the subway station, to encourage the use of bicycle as a mean of transfer. Bicycles can reach this junction via the new bike path, marked by the same bright red color, running all the way from Atlantic Avenue. By eliminating parking along 4th Avenue, make biking a safer and a more pleasant experience. Benches erected throughout are also an important elements to redefine this transportation hub, as a solution to waiting, and encourages other activities that could elevate the energy of the space, together with the sculptural lighting fixtures make public transportation an attractive alternative to private automotives.
